Adventurous Rishikesh

My first camping experience was at Rishikesh and it was superb. I just loved the feeling of staying beside the river in the temporary tents with no electricity at all. Lanterns were the only source of light once it was dark. No electricity to charge the phones and any other gadget kept me away from the normal busy life of the city and gave me a chance to spend some time with my own self, very close to the nature.

Responding to nature’s call was again an experience as the washroom was almost 500 meters away. I visited Rishikesh in the month of December, the most chilling time of the year but it was amazing. We celebrated Christmas there and lot of other people were also present there. I just loved lying down on the sand beside the river, while counting the stars and with the noise of water striking my ears.

In the morning the beauty of the place was exceptional. I really thank to my friend who woke me up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful scene. I still remember, when me and all my friends went inside the river, sat on huge stones with our cup of tea and spent a lovely morning.

I spent most if the time during the day in water and in the evening we played badminton and volleyball. It was fun to play these games after so long. At night then they had arrangements for bonfire, snacks and good music and of course we had our arrangements for booze. They do not serve any liquor so don’t forget to carry your own else you would spoil the trip. You can also go for rafting as people enjoy it a lot. I could not go for it as I fell sick and cancelled the plan.

I suggest you to carry lots of bottled water as you might not like the taste of water there. Actually once you reach the camp you won’t be able to go to any markets as the camps are little far from the main city and also the river level where all the camping setup is done is very below the road level. I am sure you would not like to climb up to the road frequently as it drains a lot of energy and requires a lot of stamina.

The camps are not luxurious but have the basic amenities like temporary beds, quilts, lanterns for light at night and decent food. I must say, one should go for camping for sure at least once and I am sure you would love it.

Memories of Goa

One of the most happening and wonderful destination in India, yes you are right, I am talking about Goa. Lovely and must visit place in India. The environment is so different that you won’t feel like in India. It’s a place where one can stay for minimum one week, though I got to stay only for 4 days and had to miss out on a lot of things. North Goa is for party lovers and South Goa is more of a relaxing place but yes of course it has one of the best things to do which you won’t get anywhere else in India. It’s the Casinos. South Goa has loads of Casinos to visit. Don’t forget to take your party wear for the Casino visit. Some of them have formal dress code too.
There are many beaches and every beach has a specialty of its own. I would like to start with the ones I loved the most. It’s Baga beach, one of the most happening and coolest beach to go. One would enjoy the most and there is no chance of getting bored there. You can indulge yourself in water sports or just take a sun bed on rent, which you can easily avail for 50 Rs for two hours and enjoy the scenic natural beauty and beauty of hot chicks roaming around. I also took a chance of getting temporary tattoo done with my husband's name written on my arm. Though I would not really recommend to get it done as it’s not hygienic at all.
Visit to Baga beach at night is a must visit, as all the shacks lay down their chairs on the beach and serve you with good hot food and chilled beer at decent prices. You can also try your singing talent as many shacks offer karaoke nights and its totally crazy. One of the good karaoke place is St. Anthony.
Another beach which I liked and is totally opposite of Baga beach is Vagator beach. It’s a place to relax completely, not even one shack you will find there. All you will find is people lying on the beach for sun tan. You can enjoy water and nature there and completely relax yourself. Take some snacks along if you plan to stay there for little longer.
A few more beaches are Calangute, Candolim, Sinquerim and I am sure there might be more but I could not visit them all.
I can also tell you a few must visit restaurants which serve finger licking delicious food. First one on my list if Fisherman's cove. This restaurant serves superb food at decent prices. Prawns and Fish is a must eat. For breakfast or mid evening snacks one can go to Infanteria. They serve very nice coffee and many other things. I personally tried crab there and it was good.
I can talk limitless about Goa as it has become one of my favorite destinations in India.
